The Willo Historic District is one of Phoenix's most beautiful, and oldest historic neighborhoods, Willo is approximately west of Central Avenue between Thomas and McDowell Roads from 1st to 7th Avenues.
Willo District offers a wide variety of home styles including Tudor, Spanish Revival, Bungalow and Ranch, Willo is one of the largest historic neighborhoods, with the majority of construction having taken place during the 1920s and 1930s. Significant architectural changes in Willo can be marked in the neighborhood starting with the earliest development near McDowell, and progressing north toward Thomas between 7th and Central Avenues of downtown / midtown Phoenix.
There is a Willo Historic District Annual Home Tour that takes place typically in February from 10 am - 4 pm. Generally, about 15 homes are open on the tour. The home tour promotes the neighborhood through the advertising both at local establishments and in the media. The positive attention that comes from the tour only helps to alert the public to what a desirable area Willo is and has brought many anew resident to Willo.
